Tightening the Belt

You would think, almost four years out of graduate school, that one would finally be getting to the point where buying a desk from Ikea would no longer be something you’d have to agonize over for months.

All I can say right now is that I’m really glad I’d put off buying that new desk.  Because as much as I want it, that money should really be going into savings right now.

I’m having to re-buckle down financially because I just found out that I will only be getting one day a month at the weekend job for the foreseeable future.  This is decidedly NOT COOL, because I kind of need the money.  So until I can find a THIRD job to fill in some extra weekend days, I’m going to have to put aside any unnecessary spending.

Luckily, this isn’t cutting into my clothing budget, because I’m not buying clothes right now anyways, since I’m in the middle of losing a bit of weight.

But I’m still really not happy that the museum field keeps pulling this shit on me.  Hrmph.
